Exercise 2: Null Jobs

Objective

To successfully create a NULL job.

Summary

Create a Null Job in MY FIRST SCHEDULE called NULL JOB 1. Be sure to provide appropriate documentation.

Instructions

  1. In Library > Administration, select Master Job.
  2. Click Add.
  3. In the Schedule drop-down, select My First Schedule.
  4. In the Name textbox, enter Null Job 1.
  5. Leave the Job Type as Null Job.
  6. Click the Save button.
  7. Click the Lock button in the upper right-hand corner.
  8. Expand the Documentation section, and add documentation.
  • Example: This is a Null Job exercise.
  1. Expand the Frequency section, if not already expanded.
  2. Move the Example-Mon-Sun-O frequency into the Active column using the < arrow.
  3. Click Save
  4. Close Library.

Enterprise Manager

Details
  1. Under the Administration topic, Double-Click on Job Master.
  2. In the Schedule drop-down list, select My First Schedule.
  3. Click the Add button on the Job Master toolbar.
  4. In the Name textbox, enter Null Job 1.
  5. Click the Save button on the Job Master toolbar.
  6. Click on the Frequency tab.
  7. Within the Frequency list frame, click the Add button.
  • Click the radio button to Create New Frequency.
  • In the Frequency Name Box, Type Mon-Sun-O.
  • Click Next.
  • Set When to Schedule as All Weeks
  • Select all days of the week by marking their check boxes
  • Click the Finish button.
  1. Click on the Documentation tab and enter This is a Null Job exercise.
  2. Click the Save button on the Job Master toolbar.
  3. Close the Job Master.
